Softball heads to Las Vegas for Boyd Gaming Rebel Classic

ON DECK
• Weber State continues the 2019 season at the Boyd Gaming Rebel Classic.
• The Wildcats will begin with games on Friday, Feb. 15 against UC Davis and UTEP before playing Hawaii and tournament host UNLV on Saturday, Feb. 16.
• WSU will conclude the UNLV tournament with a game against Seattle on Sunday, Feb. 17.
• WSU is currently in the second weekend of five weekends on the road.
IN THE HOLE
• Weber State will have one weekend off before hitting the road again this time to San Diego, CA to participate in the San Diego State Tournament and will take on UC Davis, San Diego, San Jose State, San Diego State and Long Beach State.
• Weber State will start Big Sky play on March 22-23 at Northern Colorado.
• WSU's home opener will be March 20 against in-state foe, Utah State.
WHAT'S GOOD?
• Weber State is 2-3 overall on the season.
• Weber State defeated Stanford 2-1 in extra innings thanks in large part to solid pitching by Tatiana Su'esu'e and great defense by the Wildcats. Chloe Camarero hit a double for the game winning RBI.
• The Wildcats are coming off a 2018 season where theyclaimed the Big Sky Regular Season title as Co-Champions with Sacramento State.
• 2018 was Weber State's third consecutive Big Sky Regular Season title.
• The Wildcats were picked to finish second in the Big Sky preseason polls.
• Weber State returns nine letterwinners from last season and six starters while adding six newcomers.
SALTERN RETURNS FOR WSU
• Junior Takesha Saltern returns for her junior year with Weber State.
• She averages a .405 hitting percentage in her career and has racked up 157 total hits including WSU's school record with 12 triples.
• Saltern currently has a .497 slug percentage in her career and a .467 on base percentage.
• She has earned First Team All-Conference honors as an outfielder twice in her career.
