Weber State finishes Boyd Gaming Rebel Classic with loss to Seattle

Weber State softball finished up the Boyd Gaming Rebel Classic Sunday morning with a 9-3 loss to Seattle.
The Wildcats struggled to get anything moving offensively for the first three innings while Seattle was able to get a 2-0 lead on WSU.
In the top of the fourth at the top of Weber State's lineup, Takesha Saltern started things off with a single to second base. Landi Hawker followed that up with a perfectly laid down bunt to get safe at first and advance Satlern to second.
Chloe Camerero then knocked a beautiful line drive down the left field line for a double and 2 RBIs to tie the game up at 2-2. Â The momentum kept rolling for the Wildcats as they then loaded up the bases.
Ali Belloc the ripped one up the middle into centerfield for an RBI that gave the Wildcats a 3-2 lead.
Seattle answered with a big 4th inning putting five runs across the plate. After that WSU couldn't find the offensive momentum it needed to pull out a victory and fell 9-3.
Weber State is now 3-7 overall on the season and went 1-4 on the weekend. WSU will have next weekend off and will be back in action March 1-3 at the San Diego Classic to take on San Diego, San Diego State, UC Davis, San Jose State and Long Beach State.
