Weber State sweeps Sacramento State men's tennis

OGDEN, UT - Weber State men's tennis defeated Sacramento State 7-0 today.Â
"Not sure where everyone was yesterday but they definitely were back today," said head coach, Brad Ferreira. "Very impressed with our competitiveness today."Â
In doubles action, the Wildcats were victorious in two out of the three matches. WSU duo Kris van Wyk and Bo-Han Li earned the first win in the no. 1 spot, taking down Vizcarra and Snowdon Poole 6-1. Cezary Walkusz and Brendan Barr secured the doubles point for the Wildcats when they took down Rodriguez and De La Puente 7-5.Â
In singles play, Arthur Serafim started things off on a great note for the Wildcats by defeating Snowdon Poole 6-2, 6-1 in the no. 2 spot. Kris van Wyk earned the next point, defeating Legaspi 6-3, 6-1 in the no. 1 spot. Sebastian Buxman earned a victory in the no. 4 spot, taking down Vizcarra 6-1, 6-4.Â
Brendan Barr gave the Wildcats their next point when he defeated Rodriguez 7-6, 6-2 in the no. 5. Bo-Han Li earned the 6-4, 4-6 (10-5) victory against Chabut in the no. 3 spot. Finally, Cezary Walkusz finished the matches off, beating De La Puente 4-6, 3-6, 11-9. This final point brought the overall match score to 7-0 for the Wildcats.
Weber State (7-6 overall, 2-0 Big Sky) will take on the University of Idaho on March 6th in Moscow, Idaho.
