Christian Allen finished fourth overall to claim all-region honors and secure his spot at the NCAA Championships.

The Weber State men's team finished sixth at the NCAA Cross Country Mountain Region Championships Friday at the Timpanogos Golf Course in Provo.

The 'Cats now wait to see if they will receive an at-large berth into the NCAA Championships.

Weber State totaled 155 points to finish sixth, just two points behind Southern Utah who was fifth.

Individually, Christian Allen finished fourth overall and will definitely compete at the NCAA Championships. He posted a time of 29:43.4 on the 10K course. It's the highest individual finish by a Wildcat at the NCAA Region meet since 1994. He's also just the third Wildcat ever to finish in the top five at the region meet.

The meet included seven nationally ranked teams and is one of the most competitive regions in the country.

Host BYU won the meet with a total of 42. Northern Arizona, which was ranked first in the nation, finished second with Colorado third, Air Force fourth and Southern Utah fifth.

The Wildcats were ranked ninth in the region heading into the meet and finished sixth, ahead of Utah State and Colorado State who were both nationally ranked, as well as Big Sky schools Montana State, Idaho State and Montana.

Taylor Dillon was WSU's next finisher and he joined Allen in earning All-Region honors. Dillon finished 20th with a time of 30:17.6.

Dallin Leatham was 31st at 30:34.5. Bronson Winter came in 47th with a time of 31:20.3. Logan Anderson was WSU's fifth runner at 53rd place with a time of 31:33.2. Peter Visser was 55th and Jacob Stone was 56th.
