Three Wildcats heading to NCAA Cross Country Championships

Christian Allen, Summer Allen and Billie Hatch will compete at NCAA meet on Saturday, Nov. 20 in Tallahassee, Florida.
It's NCAA Championship time for three members of the Weber State men's and women's cross country teams.Â
Christian Allen, Summer Allen and Billie Hatch will represent Weber State at the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships this Saturday, November 20.Â
The NCAA meet will be held at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida, hosted by Florida State University. The women's 6K race will begin at 10:20 a.m. Eastern time (8:20 MT), with the men's 10K race to start at 11:10 a.m. Eastern time (9:10 a.m. MT).Â
The meet will be televised on ESPNU.Â
Christian Allen will be competing at the NCAA Championships for the second time in his career. He earned All-American honors by finishing 14th as a sophomore at the 2019 NCAA Championships, which is the highest men's finish in Weber State history.Â
Allen has led the Wildcat men's team, coached by Corbin Talley, in every race this season. He finished third at the Big Sky Championships, then finished fourth at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships to qualify for the NCAA's. The fourth place finish at the regional meet is the highest by a Wildcat since 1994.Â
Allen's wife, Summer Allen, will also be competing at the NCAA Championships for the third time in her career, and the second time this calendar year. Allen competed as a freshman at the NCAA's in 2013. This year she finished seventh at the meet in March, to earn All-American honors, in what is the highest finish in Weber State history.Â
Billie Hatch is competing at the NCAA meet for the first time in her career.Â
Allen and Hatch have been the top two runners all season for the Weber State women's team, coached by Paul Pilkington. Hatch took second with Allen third at the Big Sky Championships in October. At last week's NCAA Mountain Region meet, Allen finished eighth and Hatch was 12th to qualify for the NCAA's.Â
