Wildcat women's cross country takes eighth at NCAA regional

Summer Allen and Billie Hatch earned All-Region honors and secured their spots at the NCAA Champiopnships.
The Weber State women's team finished eighth at the NCAA Cross Country Mountain Region Championships Friday at the Timpanogos Golf Course in Provo.Â
The 'Cats now wait to see if they will receive an at-large berth into the NCAA Championships.Â
Weber State totaled 212 points to take eighth place. The highly competitive Mountain region included seven nationally ranked teams.Â
Two Wildcats earned All-Region honors and secured their spots in the NCAA Championships. Senior Summer Allen was eighth overall with a time of 20:27.0 on the 6K course. Allen will return to the NCAA Championships for the second time this year. She earned All-America honors in March by finishing seventh overall at the NCAA meet.Â
Billie Hatch finished 12th overall with a time of 20:40.1. Her performance also secured a spot in the NCAA Championships and earned all-region honors.Â
Rylie Lusk was Weber State's third finisher, posting a time of 21:46.0 to finish in 55th place. Bailey Wall was 68th at 22:10.4 with Cheyenne Leatham right behind in 69th place with a time of 22:11.0.Â
The NCAA Championship selections will be announced on Saturday, November 13 at 3 p.m. Mountain time on NCAA.com. The NCAA meet will be on Saturday, November 20 in Tallahassee, Florida.Â
