Wildcats will play their next five games on the road

• After opening the season with a win on Tuesday, the Weber State men's basketball hits the road for the next five games beginning Monday night. The Wildcats will play at the Duquesne Dukes on Monday, November 15 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The game will tipoff at 7 p.m. Eastern time (5 p.m. MT) and will be streamed on ESPN+ and the ESPN app. Wildcat radio coverage will be on 103.1 FM "The Wave".

•  WSU opened the 60th Division I season of Wildcat basketball on Tuesday night with a 100-60 win over Western Colorado. The Wildcats had six players finish in double figures and WSU shot 60 percent from the field. In his Wildcat debut, senior JJ Overton led the way with 18 points. Seikou Sisoho Jawara had 17 points and senior transfer Koby McEwen added 16. Dillon Jones, the Big Sky Freshman of the Year in 2021, had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

• Weber State was picked to finish second in the Big Sky preseason polls. The Wildcats were 17-6 last season and tied for second in the conference at 12-3. WSU returns four players and 10 starters off last year's team. WSU also welcomes four new players including three Division I transfers.

• Head coach Randy Rahe is back for his 16th season at Weber State. Rahe is WSU and the Big Sky's all-time leader in wins and games coached. In 16 years, Rahe has a career record of 296-179 (.623)  at Weber State and he has led the Wildcats to five Big Sky titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances. He has coached six Big Sky MVP's, including NBA superstar Damian Lillard.

• Duquesne is 1-1 on the year. The Dukes opened the season with a 73-61 win over Rider and then lost 73-63 to Hofstra on Saturday. Duquesne was 9-9 last season.

• This will be the first meeting ever between the two schools. It will also the first ever game for Weber State in the state of Pennsylvania. It's also just the second game ever against a team from Pennsylvania. The Wildcats played Penn in 1980 at a tournament in New York. Duquesne will be just the fourth Atlantic-10 team WSU has ever faced and the first since a win at Dayton in 2012. WSU's next two games will be against teams from the A-10. The Wildcats will take on UMass on Thursday.

• After Monday's game, the Wildcats will play three games at the Jersey Mike Classic in St. Petersburg, Florida. Weber State will take on UMass on Thursday, Ball State on Friday and Green Bay on Sunday. WSU's next home game isn't until December 2 against Northern Arizona.
