POCATELLO, Idaho - Portland State snapped Weber State's two-game winning streak as the Vikings defeated the Wildcats 30-18 Saturday afternoon at Stewart Stadium.

The loss dropped the Wildcats to 4-5 on the season and 3-3 in Big Sky play.

How it happened
The Wildcats started the scoring with a 51-yard touchdown run by freshman quarterback Creyton Cooper. The Vikings scored the next 17 points and held a 17-7 lead early in the third quarter.

After a 45-yard field goal by Kyle Thompson made it 17-10, the Vikings scored again to take a 24-10 lead with 11:57 to play in the fourth quarter.

Weber State put together an 11-play, 86-yard drive with Cooper scoring another touchdown from two yards out. Mackenzie Morgan then ran for a two-point conversion that made it 24-18 with 7:22 to play.

But Portland State scored on a 39-yard rushing play with 1:55 that sealed the first win for the Vikings in Ogden since 2014.

Head coach Jay Hill
"Portland State played very well today and you have to give them credit. Nobody wants to go through adversity but it can be a good thing. We still have an opportunity to have some pride and go win next week, show some toughness and fight through adversity."
