Weber State rolls to 82-36 win

Wildcats host Utah State, BYU and Fresno State in next three games.
OGDEN - Weber State opened a four-game homestand with a dominating 82-36 win over Maine Fort Kent Saturday afternoon at the Dee Events Center.
The win moved Weber State to 9-1 on the season as they face three marquee home games coming up, including Utah State and BYU next week.
How it happened
The Wildcats never trailed en route to the blowout win. The 'Cats jumped out to a 16-0 lead less than seven minutes into the game and held a 36-8 lead at halftime. The lead was never less than 26 points in the second half.
Numbers to know
The Wildcats shot 53 percent from the field and held the Bengals to just 25 percent. However, Weber State was a season-low 2 of 22 from 3-point range. The Wildcats outrebounded Maine Fort Kent 47-26.
Four Wildcats scored in double figures and 15 players saw action in the game. Dontay Bassett played for the first time this season and led the team in scoring with 13 points. He was 6 of 7 from the field and also grabbed five rebounds.
Zahir Porter had 11 points in 14 minutes of action. He was 5 of 7 from the field and dished out three assists. Koby MeEwen and JJ Overton each added 10 points and Dillon Jones led the team in rebounding with six.
The 36 points by Maine Fort Kent is tied for the third fewest points allowed in Weber State history.
The win was also the 500th win for Weber State at the Dee Events Center, since the building was built in 1977.
