Wildcats Looking To Get Back On Track Against Aggies

This afternoon, the Weber State Wildcats will kick off their second home game against the Utah State Aggies.The last time these two teams played was 2019 where USU won 2-1 in Logan.
The Aggies hold a 6-10-1 record all-time over Weber State. USU comes into Ogden with a 2-0-1 record on the year with all three matches being against Big Sky opponents. They tied with Idaho State then beat both Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado.Â
Meanwhile, WSU will come into the match with a 1-1 record after securing an electric win 2-0 over the Kansas State Wildcats but then dropping their home opener against UVU to tune of 3-0.
The Wildcats lone goals of the season came from Lauren McConnell who was assisted by Brynlee Meyerhoffer, and Morgan Furmaniak who was assisted by Amy Kenney. Kaytlin Bradley finished the night with seven saves and was named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week.
In that game, Kaytlin Bradley had seven saves and allowed zero goals which prompted her to be named as the Big Sky Defensive Player of the WeekÂ
Head Coach Craig Sanders is now approaching his third game in his second season as the head of the Wildcats. Last spring he had a record of 4-3-3 in his inaugural season.
Also taking the field for the Wildcats will be a handful of goal scorers from the previous season in Taylor Slack, Andelin Baldwin, Yira Yoggerst, Kinsley Napoli, Harlee Turnbow, and Hailey Price as they each found the back of the net once throughout the spring.
Along with them are a couple of award winners from the previous season - Sadie Newsom was named to the Big Sky's All-Conference Second Team along with Price who was not only a second-teamer but also was the conference's newcomer of the year.
The Wildcats will look to get back on track and defeat their foes from Logan as they get set to battle the Utah State Aggies.Â
This match will be available on ESPN+ at 1 P.M. and will take place on the Wildcat Soccer Field.Â
