Wildcat women's cross country takes second at MSU Classic

BOZEMAN, Mont. - The Weber State women's cross country team was in action for the second time this season and the Wildcats came away with a second place finish at the Montana State Cross country Classic Saturday morning in Bozeman. WSU defeated three other Big Sky schools in the meet.

In addition, Billie Hatch was Weber State's top finisher and took second overall.

Weber State had five runners in the top 11, including second and third place. The Wildcats totaled 34 points, narrowly finishing second to Utah State with 31 points. Montana State was third at 67, followed by Idaho State and Montana.

Hatch posted a time of 16:20.0 on the 5K course to claim second place. Teammate Summer Allen was third with a time of 16:29.0.

Bailey Wall was Weber State's third finisher, taking eighth place at 16:52.7. Rylie Lusk finished 10th at 16:58.3 and Cheyenne Leatham was 11th with a time of 17:01.8.

The Wildcats will next be in action on Friday, October 1 at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Indiana.
