Wildcats hit the road at Idaho State Monday night

The first of two games against the Bengals this week.
• Weber State hits the road to take on Idaho State Monday night, in the first of two games this week against the Bengals. The two teams will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at Reed Gym in Pocatello. The game will be televised on ESPN with WSU radio broadcast on 103.1 FM "The Wave".
• The Wildcats are 11-5 overall and are on top of the Big Sky standings at 4-1. WSU is coming off an 84-74 win over Idaho last Thursday. Five players scored in double figures, led by JJ Overton and Seikou Sisoho Jawara with 18 points each. Weber State is second in the Big Sky in field goal percentage at 46.5 percent and the 'Cats are 11-0 when outshooting opponents and 0-5 when trailing in percentage.
• Koby McEwen leads the Wildcats and is fifth in the Big Sky in scoring at 17.1 points per game. He has scored in double figures in all but one game this season. He is also sixth in the league in field goal percentage, seventh in 3-pointers per game and 10th in steals. McEwen was named to the watch list for the Lou Henson Award, given annually to the top mid-major player in the nation.
• Dillon Jones leads the Big Sky and is 12th in the nation in rebounding at 10.3 per game. He is averaging 13.3 points per game and has nine double-doubles this season, tied for the ninth-most in the nation. Jones is also second in the conference in steals and fourth in minutes played.
• Idaho State is 3-11 overall and 1-4 in Big Sky play and is coming off an 81-74 win over Idaho on Saturday night, the first Division I win of the season for the Bengals. Idaho State is coached by Ryan Looney who is in his third season, but Looney missed Saturday's game and will also miss Monday's game with a medical issue. Joe White is the acting head coach of the Bengals.
• This will be the 129th meeting between the two schools with Weber State holding an 82-46 all-time series. The two teams have met every season since Weber State became a Division I school in 1962, except for last year when the two-game series was canceled due to COVID protocols. The 128 games played is the second-most for Weber State against any team in its history. In games in Pocatello, Idaho State leads 30-29 all-time but the Wildcats have won three of the last four games.
• Monday's game is a rescheduled game from the January 8 game that was postponed. Weber State and Idaho State will also meet this Thursday night in Ogden. Monday's game begins a stretch of four of the next five games on the road.
