Huge second half lifts Wildcats to win over Bears

Dillon Jones had a career-high 24 points with five 3-pointers in the win. Weber State has won five-straight games and is in first place in the Big Sky.
Weber State had a huge second half and rolled past Northern Colorado 85-76 Thursday night in Greeley for their fifth straight victory.
The Wildcats trailed by 10 points at halftime but outscored the Bears 52-33 in the second half. Dillon Jones had a career-high 22 points with five 3-pointers to lead all five Wildcat starters in double figures.
The fifth-straight win improved Weber State to 15-5 overall and the Wildcats remain in first place in the Big Sky at 8-1.
How it happened
Northern Colorado had an 11-0 run and jumped out to a 24-18 lead. The Bears led 43-33 at halftime.
But the second half was all Weber State as the Wildcats started the second half on a 9-0 run with five forced turnovers in that stretch.
The Bears led 53-51 with 10:57 to play when Weber State exploded for a 17-0 run and led 68-53 with 5:39 to play. Jones knocked down two 3-pointers during that stretch. The Wildcats outscored UNC 40-12 in the second half through the first 15 minutes.
Key numbers
The Wildcats shot 50 percent from the field and improved to 9-0 when shooting 50 percent or better. The 'Cats shot 60 percent in the second half. Weber State also made 11 3-pointers. The 'Cats forced 20 Northern Colorado turnovers and had 21 points off turnovers.
Jones finished with 24 points and made a career-high five 3-pointers. He was 7 of 13 from the field and 5 of 7 from 3-point range. He also pulled down 13 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season.
JJ Overton added 17 points, with 14 coming in the second half. He also had five rebounds and four steals on the night. Koby McEwen added 15 points with three 3-pointers and also dished out a team-high five assists.
Seikou Sisoho Jawara had 14 points with three assists and three steals and Dontay Bassett added 10 points and six rebounds.

The Wildcats will conclude their three-game road trip at Sacramento State Saturday night. Weber State will host three games next week, beginning with Eastern Washington Monday night.
