Big Sky Record Highlights a Strong Weekend for Women’s Track and Field

The Wildcats competed in two meets this weekend with some athletes invited to compete at the University of Washington Invitational in Seattle, Washington, and several invited to compete at the Stacy Dragila Invitational at Idaho State University in Pocatello.

Billie Hatch set a Big Sky Conference and Weber State record in the 3000m with a time of 9:05.50! Her time ranks 13th in the NCAA this year and she earned a fourth-place finish in the meet.
 
Summer Allen added a fifteenth-place finish in the event and jumped to seventh on the WSU all-time list for the 3000 with her time of 9:35.75
 
Cheyenne Leatham posted a number four all-time WSU mark in the mile with a time of 4:48.56.
 
Stacy Dragila Invitational (Idaho State)
 
The Wildcats performed very well in Pocatello with several top-10 finishes for the meet.
 
In the 60m hurdles the Wildcats finished first and second with Kate Sorensen coming across at 8.50 and Cidnee Davies-Bohn at 8.90.
 
Jasmine Devers had a fifth-place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 8.08.
 
Devers also had a fourth-place finish in the 200m dash finishing at 25.76. Brittany Cardall followed with an eighth-place finish with 26.33.
 
In the 800m Rebekah Geddes ran a 2:21.91, earning her a fourth-place finish.
 
Bailey Winter finished seventh in the mile with a 5:11.37.
 
Rylie Lusk earned a sixth-place finish in the 3000m, finishing at 10:06.20.
 
The 4x400m relay team of Jasmine Devers, Ashlynn Campos, Emily Barnes-Sterzer, and Kate Sorensen finished second with a time of 3:53.64 to round out the top performances on the track.
 
The field athletes followed-up with several top finishers in several events.
 
In the high jump, Emily Barnes-Sterzer placed seventh with a height of 5' 02.25".
 
The long jump saw three top-five finishes for the wildcats with Cidnee Davies-Bohn earning second with a jump of 17' 04". Emily Barnes-Sterzer and Whitley Surrage followed with a tie at 17' 02.75".
 
Kapua Pulotu earned second-place with a throw of 44' 10.75" in the shot put.
 
Two top-10 finishers in the weight throw round out the top finishers for the meet with Marissa Schmidt earning fourth with a mark of 52' 10.75", and Lia Katoa earning tenth with 47' 03".
 
The Wildcats will look to continue their performances this week at home as they host a meet on February 4-5, at Weber State.
