Wildcats Win 2-0 Against Montana To Wrap Up Regular Season Play

Ogden, UT – After a 1-0 win over UNC, Weber State was determined to give a strong effort Sunday at the Wildcat Soccer Field to put themselves in the running for the Big Sky Tournament.
Morgan Furmaniak and Alexis Simpson netted a goal apiece as WSU stretched its Big Sky wins to four with a 2-0 victory over Montana.
Shots ended 6-5 in favor of the Griz in the first half. However, a cross from the left side of the field made by Sayler Schlosser found the head of Alexis Simpson and to the back of the net in the 21st minute giving the 'Cats a 1-0 advantage heading into the second half.
Early on in the second half, Morgan Furmaniak netted her fifth goal of the season and extended the Wildcat's lead.
The Weber State defense had more than enough momentum to keep the clean sheet and earn WSU their fourth Big Sky win.
The Griz outshot the 'Cats 16-10.
Goalkeeper Mekell Moss had eight saves compared to Montana's two.
Up Next: The 'Cats head to the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Soccer Championships. They face Sacramento State on November 2nd at 2:00 p.m. (MT) in Greeley, CO.
