Women's basketball final home game Saturday against NAU

Weber State women's basketball will play its final home game of the season Saturday afternoon, hosting Northern Arizona. The Wildcats and Lumberjacks will play Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Dee Events Center. The game will be televised on ESPN+ and the ESPN app with live stats available at WeberStateSports.com and the Weber State Wildcats mobile app.

Weber State is 10-17 overall and 6-12 in Big Sky play following Wednesday's 73-65 win over Portland State. The Wildcats had four players in double figures in Wednesday's win and were 24 of 29 from the free throw line in the win. 

Northern Arizona is 12-13 overall and 9-8 in conference play, currently in a tie for fifth place in the Big Sky standings. 

The Wildcats have just two games left in the regular season. Weber State can still finish anywhere from eighth to 10th in the league standings.  

NAU beat Weber State 83-79 in the Big Sky season opener on December 2 in Flagstaff. The Lumberjacks outscored the Wildcats 22-14 in the fourth quarter to seal the win. Daryn Hickok had 22 points and six rebounds and Jadyn Matthews added 21 points and nine rebounds.

Saturday's game will be the final home game of the season for the Wildcats. It will also be Senior Day for two Wildcat seniors. WSU will honor Kori Pentzer and Aloma Solovi prior to the game. Pentzer has played in 107 career games and started 87 games in her four seasons at Weber State. She has scored 765 career points and has 90 career 3-pointers. Aloma Solovi has played and started in 49 games in her two-year Wildcat career.   

Daryn Hickok once again led the Wildcats in Wednesday's win, as she finished with 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. She was 4 of 6 from the field and a perfect 10 of 10 from the free throw line. Hickok has scored in double figures in 12 straight games. She now ranks fourth in the Big Sky in scoring at 14.8 points per game and is seventh in rebounding at 7.5 per game. She also is second in the league in field goal percentage at 51.8 percent and ranks sixth in the league in steals. 

Jadyn Matthews ranks third in the Big Sky in rebounding at 8.7 per game and is 10th in scoring at 12.7. Emma Torbert is second in the league in blocked shots, fourth in steals, 12th in rebounding and 12th in scoring. 

Weber State ranks ninth in the country in free throws made with 407, an average of 15.1 per game. The 'Cats are 17th in the country in free throw attempts, averaging 20 per game. 

Weber State holds a 47-42 all-time series lead over Northern Arizona. The Lumberjacks have won the last eight games in the series, with WSU's last win in February 2018. Weber State is 26-15 all-time in games in Ogden.  

Weber State will close out the regular season next Friday, March 4 at Southern Utah. 

The Big Sky Tournament will be held March 7-11 in Boise, Idaho. Weber State will play on Monday, March 7 at either 2:30 or 5:30 p.m. in the first round at the Idaho Central Arena.
