Wildcats Head to Greeley to Continue Big Sky Play

GREELEY, Colo. – The Weber State Wildcat softball team continues its Big Sky Conference season on Friday and Saturday against the fourth-place Northern Colorado Bears (17-24, 5-4).
WEBER STATE (30-9, 8-0)
-Weber State leads the overall series against Northern Colorado 19-15, has won eight in a row against the Bears, and has won every series between the schools dating back to 2019.
-The Wildcats enter this weekend as the only undefeated team in the Big Sky Conference.
-With a sweep against Montana, Weber State hit the thirty-win mark for the first time since 2017.
-WSU has swept the Big Sky Conference weekly awards in two consecutive weeks (Arissa Henderson and Mariah Ramirez won Pitcher of the Week, Chloe Camarero and Faith Hoe were named Player of the Week).
-For the first time since 2019, Weber State has three wins over teams from power five conferences (Kansas, Texas A&M, Utah).
-The Cats have had two winning streaks of at least eight games this season, including a school-record 12-game winning streak.
-Weber State finished out-of-conference play with a 22-9 record, tying for the second most out-of-conference wins in program history.
-The Wildcats just wrapped up a season-long six-game home stand with a 5-1 record.
Wildcat Pitching
-The WSU pitching staff leads the Big Sky with a team ERA of 3.00.
-Wildcat pitching has surrendered less runs (138), doubles (34), triples (3), and home runs (18) than any other team in the conference.
-The Cats are allowing a conference-low .245 batting average to their opponents.
-Henderson, the defending Big Sky Pitcher of the Week, has a season ERA of 2.05 which is second best in the conference. Amanda Sink (3.56), and Ramirez (3.59) are both in the top 10.
-Ramirez had a record setting performance against Southern Utah earlier this season. In a one-hit shutout, Ramirez struck out 16 batters to set a new Weber State record and tie the Big Sky Conference record for most punch outs in a single game.
-With 29 earned runs each, Henderson and Sink are tied for the Big Sky Conference lead in the category.
-The Wildcat defense has been terrific this season and ranks 18th in the nation with a .975 fielding percentage.
Wildcat Bats
-The Wildcats' 5.77 runs per game lead the conference and place them in the top 50 in the nation.
-As a team, the Cats lead the Big Sky with 194 RBI.
-WSU's plate discipline has been on point this season, and Weber State leads the Big Sky with 127 walks.
-Faith Hoe's .383 batting average leads WSU and is third best in the Big Sky. She also leads the Cats in on base percentage (.462), runs scored (33), hits (46), and doubles (8).
-Camarero ranks in the top five in the conference in runs scored (31), triples (2), and home runs (10).
