Wildcats With a Strong Finish to Regular Season

In the last meet of the regular season several athletes competed at the Bengal Invitational at Idaho State. It was a great opportunity to compete at this year's location for the Big Sky Conference Championship's.

Sprinters performed well with Jasmine Devers finishing fifth in the 100-meter dash and second in the 200-meter dash. Her times were both PRs, but unofficial due to wind adjustments. Her 100-meter time ranks 16 in the Big Sky at 12.17, and her 200-meter time of 24.58 (wind adjusted) ranks ninth in the Big Sky.

Brittany Cardall finished sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.05 moves her to 20 for the Big Sky.

Freshman Angelyca Chapman finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.43.

In hurdles, Cidnee Davies-Bohn finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.14, and Emily Barnes-Sterzer improved on her PR time in the 400-meter hurdles at 59.04 which moves her to second on the Weber State All-Time list. Her rank improves on her number one time in the Big Sky and moves her to 28 on the NCAA West Division list.

In the 800-meters Cheyenne Leatham ran 2:10.90 to finish first for the meet.

Bailey Winter finished first in the 3000-meter steeplechase among collegiate competitors with a time of 10:57.17. She finished just behind Bailey Wall who was competing unattached at the meet.

In field events Stefanie Aeschlimann had another season best in the triple jump with a jump of 39' 8" to put her fifth in the Big Sky rankings.

Kapua Pulotu continues to show great consistency in both the shot put and discus by finishing second in each event at the meet. She threw 153' 5" in the discus, and 45' 9" in the shot put.Â

To finish up the top performances for the meet this weekend, Lauren Olsen placed first in the javelin with a throw of 146' 8".

The Wildcats will have some time off in the coming week to give some time for extra preparation ahead of the Big Sky Championship meet that will be held starting Wednesday, May 11, and finishing on Saturday, May 14. The meet will take place at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID.Â
