2022 Big Sky Outdoor Championship Preview

The 2022 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled to begin this week in Pocatello, Idaho. Idaho State University plays host for the meet that will be filled with Weber State Wildcat competitors.Â

Cheyenne Leatham will be a strong contender in a pair of events, the 800-meter run, where she currently ranks in the top-3 for the conference at 2:07.92, and the 1500-meter run where she ranks fourth at 4:23.00.

Two Wildcats rank in the top-10 in the 10000-meters, Rylie Lusk sits second with a time of 34:27.91, and Maura Williams is seventh at 36:44.72.Â

Cidnee Davies-Bohn ranks high in both the 100-meter Hurdles and the Long Jump and will look to improve on her performance so far this season in both. Cidnee is currently third in the 100-meter Hurdles and sixth in the Long Jump.

Emily Barnes-Sterzer holds the top time in the 400-meter Hurdles this season at 59.15, which is well ahead of other competitors this season. Emily also holds the number eight position in the High Jump with a clearance of 5' 5.25". Emily will be competing in the Pentathlon, where she currently ranks second in the Big Sky, beginning Wednesday. She has set school records in both the Heptathlon (Indoor), and the Pentathlon during this year of competition.

In the 3000-meter Steeplechase, Bailey Winter ranks fourth this season with a time of 10:26.80.

Alisha Ellsworth ranks ninth in the long jump with a jump of 18' 8.5".

With a leap of 39' 8" in the Triple Jump, Stefanie Aeschlimann sits sixth in the current rankings.
Â
Kapua Pulotu holds top-10 marks in both the Shot Put and Discus. Her fourth-place position in the Discus with a mark of 156' 5" has her in a solid position for the meet. She ranks eighth in the Shot Put with a mark of 45' 9.75".

In Javelin, Lauren Olsen is currently ranked fifth and will look to continue the consistency that she has shown so far this season.

The Big Sky Conference Championships will be televised through ESPN+, and some events will be livestreamed on Instagram or Twitter periodically. Good luck to all the athletes competing this week.
