Wildcats Finish Fall Season with 13th Place at Boulder Creek

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Weber State women's team wrapped up the 2023 fall season on Tuesday, shooting a 1-under par final round 287 to finish in a tie for 13th place in the Clash at Boulder Creek at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Long Beach State cruised to the team championship, shooting a final round 285 and a three-round total of 25-under par 839. San Francisco shot a 10-under par 278 on the day and finished second, while Northern Arizona shot a 13-under par 275 to finish third, but the pair could get no closer than 11 shots after the 49ers jumped out to a huge lead with rounds of 283 and 271 over the first two days.

Weber State opened the 19-team tournament with rounds of 302 and 291 and finished with a 54-hole total of 880.

The Wildcats were led by Sofia Fuenmayor, who finished in a tie for 32nd place with a 2-over par total of 218. Fuenmayor opened the tournament with an even-par 72, and after shooting a 76 on Tuesday, she carded four birdies in a 2-under par 70.

Jessica Zelasko shot rounds of 75, 72 and 75 for a 6-over par 222 to tie for 57th.

Emily Song and Cala Korman each finished the tournament tied for 62nd with 7-over par totals of 223. Song shot rounds of 76, 74 and 73, while Korman rebounded from an opening round 81 to shoot back-to-back 1-under par 71's to close the event.

Isabel Gutierrez rounded out the Weber State team with a three-round total of 226 to finish in a tie for 75th place.

Riana Mission led San Francisco to their second place finish, earning individual medalist honors with an 11-under par total of 205. Maddie Laux of UNLV finished second at 208, playing as an individual in the tournament.
