Men's Cross Country finishes 9th at the NCAA Mountain Regionals

Peter Visser qualifies for NCAA Championships
Weber State men's cross country finished 9th as a team with 272 at the NCAA Mountain Regionals in Lubbock, TX on November 10.Â
The 'Cats finished in front of Utah State, Southern Utah, Utah Valley, UTEP, Texas Tech, Nevada, Idaho State and Montana.Â
Peter Visser earned an individual qualification to the NCAA Championships in Charlottesville, Virginia on November 18th.Â
"Peter was outstanding. He was patient through the opening miles and then slowly moved up into the top 25," head coach Corbin Talley said. "We're excited to have him represent us in Virginia next week."Â
Visser led the squad with a 24th place finish at 29:43.1, Bronson Winter was the next 'Cat to cross the finish line in 53rd at 30:27.7, Kevin Kirk was close behind in 54th at 30:27.7, Wesley Kallgren finished 59th at 30:34.8, Taylor Knight finished 82nd with a time of 31:18.9, Carson Horspool finished at 31:42.9 in 94th and Ty Davis finished 99th at 31:52.5.Â
"I was very happy about the effort from all seven guys today," Talley said. "They ran with purpose and intent and had their best team race of the season. The Mountain Region is the deepest, strongest region in the NCAA once again this year with a national best six teams qualifying for the finals."
