Provo, UT - The Weber State men's tennis squad finished their second match of the weekend against the BYU Cougars. The 'Cats fell short in the battle for the doubles point, and BYU took the upper hand in the match, leaving several matches unfinished for a final score of 4-0.
Doubles play started with a battle for the 'Cats. After Sebastian Buxman and Matteo Savio fell to the BYU duo 6-3 on court three, Wildcats Tristan Sarap and Jordan Coutinho put up a tough fight against the opposition of Jack Barnett and Mateo Vereau but despite their efforts lost 7(7)-6(5), awarding BYU with their first match point.
As the match moved to singles, the Weber squad looked to recover from BYU's advantage, needing four matches to win. The Cougar's second point came on court four, where William Zulch fell short 6-4, 6-3. Sebastian Buxman lost his match on court one, finishing 7-5, 6-3. The match was clinched on court three, where Connor Kruger's opponent took the upper hand defeating him 6-4, 6-1. On courts two, five, and six matches went unfinished.
