Wildcat Softball Drops Pair of Games in Hillenbrand Classic

TUCSON, Arizona – Weber State softball continued the Hillenbrand Classic in Tucson on Saturday, and dropped games to CSUN and Nebraska.
WSU started the day with the early game on the campus of the University of Arizona. Things didn't click for the Wildcats in the first game of the day. Faith Hoe singled in the first inning and that was the lone hit for the 'Cats in the first game as the Matadors walked away with an 11-0 (5) win over Weber State.
In the following game, the Huskers, a 2022 NCAA Tournament participant, came out with hot bats in the top of the first. After scoring seven runs in the first inning, Nebraska tacked on two more to close out a 9-1 win over WSU on Saturday afternoon. Weber State (5-13) closes out the Hillenbrand Classic on Sunday with a game against Texas A&M - Commerce.
NOTABLES
-Amanda Johnson was the pitcher of record in both games. Her personal record is now at 5-6.
-Lauren Hoe smashed a solo home run in WSU's game against Nebraska. That was her fifth blast of the year and the 27th of her career. She is now seven home runs shy of tying the all-time WSU record for most home runs in a career.

The Wildcats finish the Hillenbrand Classic with a Sunday matchup against Texas A&M – Commerce. First pitch will be at 12 PM and the game can be seen on Flo Sports with a subscription.
