'Cats record 9th place finish at NCAA Pre-Nationals

Wildcat cross country recorded a 9th place team finish in the B division of the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin on October 19. The 'Cats tallied 237 points.Â
"We had some solid individual performances today, and I was proud of the way the guys fought in some unseasonably warm weather," head coach Corbin Talley said. "It was a challenging course and there was some great competition."Â
Peter Visser led the Wildcats with an eighth place finish at 24:11.7, Wesley Kallgren crossed the finish line next at 24:33.4 in 33rd, Ty Davis finished in 40th at 24:40.7, Hanokh Gailson recorded a 71st place finish at 25:01.0 and Evan Harris finished 85th at 25:09.7 rounded out the top five finishes for Weber State.
"Pete had another strong day for us upfront," Talley said. "Wes and Ty both got out well and battled for top 40 as well."
Tanner Rogers finished at 25:18.1 in 101st, Alex Harbertson finished in 139th at 25:55.8 and Taylor Knight recorded a 143rd place finish at 26:00.6.Â
Kelton Gagnon and TJ Warning competed in the open race. Gagnon finished 44th at 25:09.8 and Warnick finished 62nd at25:35.9
"We haven't quite had the overall team performance we know we're capable of this year, but we've got some great opportunities ahead and I believe this group has the talent, tenacity and experience to figure it out," Talley said. "We're not satisfied with today as a team, but we're going to keep fighting."
The 'Cats will be back in action in Pocatello, Idaho for the Big Sky Championships on November 1st.Â
