Wildcats Win Team Title at Bill Cullum Invitational

SOMIS, Calif. – Weber State shot a second-straight 2-over par 290 on Tuesday to win the team championship title at the Bill Cullum Invitational, hosted by CSU Northridge at the Saticoy Club.

The Wildcats had opened the tournament on Monday with a 15-over par 303, but surged to a nine-shot lead in the afternoon with a second round 290 before duplicating that score on Tuesday to pull away from the field even further. For the tournament, the Wildcats posted a 54-hole total of 883.

The host Matadors shot 294 in the final round to move into second place at 897, fourteen shots behind Weber State. UC Riverside shot 296 on the day and finished in third place in the six team field at 898.

Matthew Wilson and Ty Anderson each finished in the top four on the individual leaderboard to lead the way for Weber State. 

Wilson followed up back-to-back even-par 72's from Monday with a 3-under par 69 on Tuesday to finish at 3-under par 213 and alone in third place. The freshman posted 15 birdies during the event.

Anderson came in one shot behind Wilson, alone in fourth place, with a 2-under par total of 214. After opening with a 5-over par 77, Anderson posted rounds of 3-under par 69 and 4-under par 68.

Bobby Kincaid finished in a tie for 16th place with a 14-over par total of 230. After opening the tournament with rounds of 77 and 81, he shot an even-par 72 on Tuesday behind a 6-under par score on the back nine at the Saticoy Club that included five consecutive birdies on holes 10 through 14.

Luke Smith shot a three-round total of 234 to finish in a tie for 21st place, and Cormack Goecke shot 240 to tie for 35th to round out the Wildcats.

Pepperdine's duo of Byungho Lee and Joshua Koo finished in the top two spots on the individual leaderboard, with Lee taking medalist honors with a 7-under par 209. Koo finished three shots back in second place.
