Tomley's game-winner gives Wildcats road victory at Utah Tech

Miguel Tomley had 21 points to lead the Wildcats to a 73-71 win over the Trailblazers in St. George.
ST. GEORGE - Miguel Tomley hit a game-winning layup in the final second seal a 73-71 victory for Weber State over Utah Tech Friday night at Burns Arena.
The game saw 11 ties and 11 lead changes as the two instate teams went back and forth down the stretch.
Utah Tech led 30-28 at halftime and led by as many as seven points in the second half. The Trailblazers led 56-49 with 10:50 to play when the Wildcats responded with an 8-1 run and tied the game at 57 with 7:26 to play.
The game was tied six more times after that. Utah Tech led 68-67 with 1:08 to play. Nigel Burris knocked down two free throws with 39 seconds left to give the Wildcats the lead, then Blaise Threatt made two free throws with 20 seconds left to put the 'Cats up 71-68.
The Trailblazers made one free throw with 16 seconds left, then missed the second but Tennessee Rainwater got the rebound and made a layup to tie the game at 71 with 14 seconds remaining.
That's when Tomley drove in for the game-clinching layup in the final second.
"We didn't have our best tonight and it wasn't our best performance, but we found enough," said WSU head coach Eric Duft. "We gave a great effort and just found a way to win at the end."
Tomley led the Wildcats with 21 points and knocked down three 3-pointers. He also had four assists and two steals. He was 7 of 15 from the field and 4 of 6 from the free throw line.
Two other Wildcats scored in double figures. Vasilje Vucinic started for the first time this season and posted his second double-double. He finished with 14 points on 7 of 8 shooting and pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds.
Threatt also had 14 points and also had five rebounds and two assists.
Weber State shot 51 percent from the field and made eight 3-pointers. WSU also outrebounded the Trailblazers 32-27 and had 15 assists with five steals and five blocked shots.
The Wildcats improved to 5-6 on the season. Weber State returns home for two games next week hosting Lincoln on Wednesday and Utah Valley on Saturday at the Dee Events Center.
