Wildcats finish out Kajikawa Classic, go 1-4 on the weekend

Phoenix, AZ – Weber State softball finished off day three of the Kajikawa Classic Sunday against Northwestern. The Wildcats fell 0-8.
- Northwestern scored first putting up one run in the bottom of the first and five runs in the bottom of the third to take an early 6-0 lead.
- Northwestern added another two runs in the bottom of the fifth to earn the win over Weber State.
- Weber State went with the pitching trio of junior Cali McCraw, freshman Joslynn Veltien, and junior Brooke Merrill who combined for a total of four strikeouts on the day.
- McGraw started the day in the circle for the Wildcats, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing only a pair of earned runs.
- Mia Rushton led the Wildcats at the plate, going 2-for-2 on the day in the lead off spot for Weber State's only two hits of the game.
Next: The Wildcats return to the diamond on Feb. 16-18 for the CBU Classic. Weber State will face Utah State, California Baptist, and CSU Bakersfield.
