Wildcats Tie for Sixth at Red Rocks Invitational

SEDONA, Ariz. – The Weber State women's golf team posted a final round 296 to finish tied for sixth among the 20-team field at the Red Rocks Invitational, which wrapped up on Sunday at the Estrella Country Club.

For the tournament, the Wildcats recorded rounds of 295, 294 and 296 for a 54-hole total of 885.

Sofia Fuenmayor led the way for Weber State on Sunday, carding five birdies in a 2-under par 70. After starting the weekend with rounds of 72 and 75, Fuenmayor came away with a 1-over par total of 217 and a tie for eighth place.

Jade Gruher, making her first career appearance with the Wildcats' scoring team, shot rounds of 72, 73 and 78 to finish in a tie for 30th at 7-over par 223.

Isabel Gutierrez tied for 33rd with rounds of 77, 74 and 73 for an 8-over par total of 224.

Emily Song opened the tournament with rounds of 74 and 72, but fell off the pace with a final round 79 to tie for 37th place at 9-over par 226.

Jessica Zelasko shot a 2-under par score of 70 in Saturday's opening round, but mistakenly signed for a 69 on her scorecard and was disqualified for the error. She posted a 77 on Saturday afternoon and a 75 on Sunday.

Cala Korman, playing as an individual for Weber State, carded rounds of 81, 77 and 77 for a total of 235 to tie for 86th.

Tournament host Northern Arizona tied with Seattle atop the team leaderboard with 17-over par totals of 881. 

Emily Romancew of Northern Illinois claimed medalist honors with a one-shot win at 3-under par 213.
