Wildcats bested by Pacific

Stockton, CA — The Wildcat men's tennis team was defeated on the road by Pacific as the Tigers took down the Wildcats 6-1

The Wildcats were able to get their lone team point on the day via doubles play. The duos of Coutinho/Kruger and Savio/Minh were able to take down their opponents winning the No. 2 and No. 3 matches for the 'Cats to secure the team doubles point. Coutinho and Kruger took their match 6-3 while Savio and Minh clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory.

In singles play, the Wildcats were unable to secure any points toward the team as they were bested in all six of the singles matches. The closest the 'Cats came to securing a singles point came in the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Elyes Marouani was able to take his match all the way to the third set before eventually falling short in the No. 2 position. In the No. 1 slot, Tristan Sarap was unable to pull out a gauntlet of a match. A match featuring a third set and two tiebreakers, the singles point eventually went the Tigers' way via a score of 6-7 (0-1), 7-5, 10-5.

The team will close out their California road trip with a Saturday morning match against the UC Irvine Anteaters in Irvine, California. Following that match, they will head back home to take on Utah State on March 15th at the Ogden Athletic Club.
