Men’s Tennis Shutout in Final Match of Road Trip

Irvine, CA — The Wildcat men's tennis team was shutout as they looked to close out their California road trip strong. The team fell to UC Irvine 7-0.

In doubles play, the Wildcats were able to split the first two matches before it came time for the rubber match in the No. 3 position. It was in this match that Tuan Minh and Matteo Savio were unable to clinch the victory and were defeated 7-5. With that defeat, UC Irvine would clinch the team doubles point as the match moved into singles play.

In singles play, the Wildcats were unable to secure any points toward the team as they were bested in all six of the singles matches. The 'Cats were unable to move any of the singles matches into three sets as they were defeated in two sets across the board.

The team will now come back home and look to get the sour taste out of their mouths with a match on Friday March 15th. It will be a challenging task however as they will take on #68 ranked Utah State at the Ogden Athletic Club.
