Wildcat Cross Country finishes 3rd at USU Alumni Challenge

Peter Visser records first place finish at USU Alumni Challenge
Wildcat Cross Country finished the Utah State Alumni Challenge with Peter Visser recording a first place finish and the team recording a 3rd place finish with 59 points on August 31. The course was 4.3 miles in length.Â
"I am very pleased with the opening effort from the squad today," head coach Corbin Talley said. "They put in a very strong summer and it was nice to see them open up with some good performances."Â
The top seven team finishes include Visser who led the squad with a time of 20:51.14, Wesley Kallgren was the next Wildcat to cross the finish line with a tenth place finish and a time of 21:08.42, Owen Rogers finished 15th at 21:18.09, Hanokh Gailson finished 19th at 21:23.57, Ty Davis finished 21st with a time of 21:26.06, Taylor Knight finished 25th at 21:28.44 and TJ Warnick finished 27th at 21:32.93.Â
"Peter, Wes, and Owen ran our fastest three times we've ever had on that course," Talley said. "And I was really pleased with the effort we saw from some of our young guys."Â
Both Evan Harris and Brady Christensen ran unattached, Harris finished 18th at 21:21.66 and Christensen finished 24th at 21:27.6.Â
"It's a good crew. They are working very well together, learning a lot about themselves, and willing to put a lot of heart into their racing," Talley said.Â
Following their trip to Logan, the 'Cats will travel down to Provo, Utah for the BYU AUtumn Classic on September 13.
