'Cats fall to 4-2 to No. 9 Utah State

The 'Cats fell 4-2 to No. 9 Utah State at Wildcat Soccer Field on September 15. Weber State falls to 1-6-3 on the season.

The Aggies were the first to find the back of the net, Addy Weichers scored off of a corner kick.

"They were very good and dynamic for the first 15 minutes of the game," head coach Craig Sanders said about the Aggies. "We had to make a few adjustments and from then on, we were pretty much comfortable."

Ali Swensen scored the equalizer late in the first half off of an unassisted goal.

The Wildcats took their first lead of the match when Lily Blum found the back of the net from an unassisted goal.

The Aggies clawed back and scored three unanswered goals from Kate Christiam, Summer Diamond and Austin Miller.

Hadley Harris was the 'keeper for the 'Cats and recorded four saves over 90 minutes.

Swensen currently leads the team with 12 points from five goals and two assists. Blum is now in a three way tie with Sayler Schlosser and Amanda Caswell for second with goals on the season, all three players have two goals each.

The 'Cats will wrap up their non-conference play with two games in state, they will travel to Orem and take on the Utah Valley Wolverines on September 19 at 7:30 pm and then be back at home on September 22 at 1 pm to host Wyoming.
