'Cats drop home game to Vandals

Weber State is back home again on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
OGDEN - Weber State started a four-game homestand Thursday night but couldn't overcome the 3-point shooting of Idaho as the Vandals beat the Wildcats 82-74 at the Dee Events Center.
Idaho was 13 of 36 from 3-point range, the second-most 3-pointers an Big Sky opponent has made against the 'Cats this season.
The Vandals were also 25 of 29 from the free throw line and had five players in double figures.
Weber State shot 49 percent from the field, compared to 44 percent for the Vandals. Idaho won the rebounding margin 33-29.
The Wildcats held a six-point lead early in the game but Idaho had a 13-3 run late in the first half and held a 36-31 lead at halftime.
The Vandals scored the first five points of the second half and took their largest lead at 10 points. Weber State cut the lead to under five points several times in the second half but could never take the lead as Idaho knocked down seven 3-pointers in the second half.
Weber State had four players in double figures, led by Blaise Threatt who had 19 points, along with a career-high eight assists, and six rebounds.
Dyson Koehler scored 13 points with two 3-pointers and five rebounds. Viljami Vartiainen added 11 points and knocked down three 3-pointers and freshman Trevor Hennig added 10 points.
The Wildcats continue their homestand on Saturday afternoon against Eastern Washington. Tipoff is at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Dee Events Center.
