• Weber State is 9-17 overall and 3-9 in conference play. The Wildcats are coming off a 74-66 loss at Montana State on Thursday night in Bozeman. The 'Cats trailed by as many as 15 points before cutting the lead to three late in the game, before Montana State prevailed. Montana is 18-8 overall and 11-2 in Big Sky play and tied for first in the league standings. The Grizzlies have won seven-straight games heading into Saturday night.
• Weber State senior Blaise Threatt was sensational on Thursday night as he finished with 32 points, seven rebounds, and six assists at Montana State. It was his second time in the last three games scoring at least 32 points.
Over the last three games, Threatt is averaging 28.7 points per game and the 86 points in the last three games are the most by a Wildcat in a three game stretch since Jerrick Harding in 2020.
Threatt leads the Wildcats in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and minutes played this season. He has now reached 20 or more nine times. In Big Sky games, he is averaging 21.5 per game.
On the season he ranks second in the Big Sky in scoring, and also ranks second in steals, second in minutes played, third in assist to turnover ratio, fourth in assists, and fifth in field goal percentage.
• Threatt is also reaching a career milestone. He needs three more points to reach 2,000 points for his college career. He enters Saturday having played in 137 career games in his career, which included three seasons at Division II Colorado Mesa and the last two at Weber State. He currently ranks 26th among active players in all divisions of the NCAA in career points with 1,997. He has scored 802 points in 56 career games over the last two seasons at Weber State.
• WSU sophomore Viljami Vartiainen added 14 points and made all four of Weber State's 3-pointers in Thursday's win. Vartiainen is fourth on the Wildcat team in scoring at 7.7 points per game and is averaging 8.8 points in conference games. He has scored in double figures in five of the last six games and ranks 10th in the Big Sky in 3-pointers per game at 1.8. He leads the Wildcats with 47 3-pointers this season.
• Weber State is playing without their second and third leading scorers in seniors Dyson Koehler and Miguel Tomley who are both out the remainder of the season. Koehler broke his wrist on Feb. 3 and Tomley is out while dealing with a serious medial situation.
• Montana is tied with Northern Colorado for first in the Big Sky at 11-2 and has won seven straight games heading in Saturday night. The seven game winning streak is tied for the eighth longest active streak in the country. The Grizzlies beat Weber State on January 16 in Ogden, then lost at Idaho State on January 18. Since then, they have won seven straight, including an 81-68 win over Idaho State on Thursday.
The Grizzlies rank fourth in the nation in field goal percentage at 49.8 percent and are shooting 51.8 percent from the field in Big Sky games. Joe Pridgen leads the Big Sky and is 10th in the country in field goal percentage at 63.4 percent.
Montana is 13-1 at home this year.
• Earlier this season in Ogden, Montana beat the Wildcats 63-59. The Wildcats played without Blaise Threatt in that game due to illness.
• This will be the 144th all-time meeting between two original members of the Big Sky Conference. Weber State has played Montana more than any opponent in its history.
The Wildcats hold a 76-67 all-time lead but Montana has won the last two and three of the last four against Weber State.
