Wildcats return home to host Hornets Thursday night

Weber State and Sacramento State play at 7:00 p.m. at the Dee Events Center on Thursday.
• Weber State returns home for the final stretch of the Big Sky regular season as the Wildcats host Sacramento State on Thursday night.
• The Wildcats and Hornets will tipoff at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night at the Dee Events Center in Ogden. The game will be televised on ESPN+ and the ESPN app with Tony Parks and former Weber State head coach Joe Cravens calling the action.
The Weber State radio broadcast will be on 103.1 FM "The Wave" with Carl Arky and former Weber State standout and Big Sky MVP David Patten on the call.

• Weber State is 9-18 overall and 3-10 in conference play. The Wildcats have lost their last three games including road losses at Montana State and Montana last week. Weber State has five conference regular season games remaining until the Big Sky Tournament. Sacramento State is 6-20 overall and 2-11 in Big Sky play and enters Thursday having lost seven straight games.
• Weber State senior Blaise Threatt averaged 28 points per game in the two road games last week. Over the last four games, he is averaging 27.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. He has scored 20 or more points 10 times, including each of the last four games.
Threatt leads the Wildcats in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and minutes played this season In Big Sky games, he is averaging 21.7 points, 6.3 assists, and 4.5 assists per game.
For the season he ranks third in the Big Sky in scoring at 19.2 per game, and also ranks second in steals, second in minutes played, four in assists, fourth in assist to turnover ratio, and fifth in field goal percentage.
• Threatt also reached a career milestone in Saturday's win as he surpassed 2,000 points for his college career. He has scored 2,021 points in 138 career games, which included three seasons at Division II Colorado Mesa and the last two at Weber State. He ranks 25th among active players in all divisions of the NCAA in career points, and has scored 826 points in 57 career games over the last two seasons at Weber State.
• WSU sophomore Viljami Vartiainen added 11 points and made three 3-pointers in Saturday's game at Montana. He has scored in double figures in six of the last seven games for the Wildcats and is averaging 8.9 points per game in Big Sky games, and has made 27 3-pointers in conference play.
Wildcat freshman Trevor Hennig added 11 points on Saturday and has scored in double figures in five of the last seven games.
• Weber State is playing without their second and third leading scorers in seniors Dyson Koehler and Miguel Tomley who are both out the remainder of the season. Koehler broke his wrist on Feb. 3 and Tomley is out while dealing with a serious medial situation.
• Sacramento State enters Thursday's game with a 6-20 overall record and a 2-11 mark in Big Sky play. The Hornets have lost their last seven games. The Hornets started conference play with a home win over Portland State but have since lost 11 of their last 12 games. Sac State is 1-11 on the road this season, including 0-6 on the road in Big Sky play.
The Hornets lead the Big Sky in scoring defense, allowing just 69.5 points per game, but are last in scoring offense. The Hornets are also second in the league in field goal percentage defense.
• Earlier this season in Sacramento, Weber State beat Sacramento State 87-81. The Wildcats led by 21 points with 7:40 to play when the Hornets went on a furious run, but the 'Cats held on for the win. Blaise Threatt had 26 points to lead Weber State and Viljami Vartiainen had a career-high 22 points with four 3-pointers. The Wildcats shot 55 percent from the field and made 11 3-pointers.
• Weber State holds a 51-11 all-time series lead over Sacramento State, including the win earlier this year. The Wildcats have won the last two games and nine of the last 10 games against the Hornets.
In games in Ogden, Weber State is 27-2 all-time and has won seven straight games. Sacramento State's last win at the Dee Events Center came in January 2015.
• Weber State stays home for an afternoon game Saturday against Portland State. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.
