Abby Grundy leads the Wildcats with a .400 batting average, totaling 36 hits, 14 doubles and 27 RBI. Grundy earned Big Sky Co-Player of the Week honors for her performance during the Big Sky series against Montana where she recorded a .444 batting average going 4-for-9 at the plate with three home runs and six RBI. She leads the conference in batting average and doubles.
Cali McCraw (8-4) leads the team in pitching with an ERA of 3.13. She is ranked fourth in the Big Sky in earned run average and has totaled 34 strikeouts this season.
Wildcat Returners
Last season, Abby Grundy led the team with a .352 batting average. She ended the season with 25 runs, 50 hits, 28 RBI and 13 doubles. Grundy was a part of the 2022 Big Sky Conference regular season and tournament championship team. She earned All-Big Sky Second Team - Third Base honors in 2024 and was named to the 2024 NFCA NCAA D1 All-Region Third Base Second Team (West Region).
Taegan Smith recorded 43 hits and 24 runs last season. She had a .289 batting average and a .922 fielding percentage with 74 put outs. She ended the season with the second most RBI of 26 and received Big Sky Honorable Mention - Shortstop.
Kiaira Smith led the team during the 2024 season in home runs with six. She totaled 44 hits and 17 runs for a .308 batting percentage. She earned 2024 All-Big Sky Honorable Mention - Non-Pitcher/UTL honors.
Fresh Faces
Seven players make up the freshman class: Sadie Kirk from Litchfield, AZ; Jordan McMahon from Phoenix, AZ; Jordan Hart from Surprise, AZ; Raina Navarro from Phoenix, AZ; RJ Parra from Prescott, AZ and Apollonia Maldonado from Antioch, CA.
Head Coach Kristin Delahoussaye
Kristin Delahoussaye was named the Weber State softball head coach in June of 2024. Delahoussaye joined WSU as an assistant coach in the summer of 2017. The 2024 season marked her seventh year with the Wildcats and she has now accumulated 10 years of coaching experience at the Division I level. During her tenure at Weber State, Delahoussaye has been vital in the recruitment and development of players on six different championship teams.
