Men’s Tennis falls at Idaho

Lewiston, ID — The Weber State Wildcats men's tennis team lost its sixth consecutive match on Friday, falling to the Idaho Vandals 5-2.
"Did not play our best tennis today," head coach Brad Ferreira said. "Another opportunity tomorrow to bounce back."
The Wildcats were swept in doubles play, falling 6-3 on Court #1 and 6-4 on Court #2. Tristan Sarap and William Zulch went unfinished on Court #3. The Vandals took a 1-0 lead into singles play, where they would continue their momentum.
In singles, Ken Minh and Theo Mottier provided the two team points by winning their matches on Courts #4 and #6, respectively. Minh took a 7-5, 6-3 decision against his opponent, while Mottier won his 7-5, 2-6, 10-2. Tristan Sarap forced his match in position #1 to the limit before falling in the third set 6-2.
The Wildcats fall to an even 3-3 in conference play as their skid continues. The 'Cats have now lost six matches and seven of their last eight. Their record now stands at 7-11 as they will head across the border to Cheney, Washington, to take on the Eastern Washington Eagles tomorrow at 10 a.m. The Eagles come into Saturday standing at 4-14 and 1-3 in conference play. Both teams will look to right the ship at the EWU Tennis Courts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 5th.
