Ogden, UT - Weber State soccer will hit the road again. This time, heading to California for a west coast turnaround, playing matches against California Baptist and UC Santa Barbara.
The Wildcats, 4-4, will take on the Cal Baptist Lancers on Thursday and the UCSB Gauchos on Sunday. Both games are available on ESPN+, and live stats will be available on weberstatesports.com.
The Lancers come into Thursday with a 4-4-1 mark on their 2025 campaign. It will be the first time that the two programs have faced each other in their histories.Â
CBU ran the table in the WAC Soccer Tournament, beating the #2-seeded Grand Canyon University Antelopes 3-2 to advance to the NCAA Tournament. The Lancers fell to the UCLA Bruins in the first round, 2-1, to bring their 2024 season to an end.
The Gauchos will take the field on Sunday as one of the hottest teams in the country. Winners of their last 6, and sporting a 7-1-1 record on the season. Their lone defeat came in their season opener, falling to LMU 2-1 on August 14th.
UCSB also ran the table in the Big West Championships to advance to the NCAA Tournament before falling to Stanford 5-0 in the opening round.Â
This will be the 6th all-time meeting between the programs, with the Gauchos leading the all-time series 1-3-1. The last result between the teams was a 3-2 Weber State win in Ogden in 2018.
The next home game for the Wildcats will be September 25th at 7:00 p.m. as they will host Eastern Washington and open Big Sky Conference play. That night is also Alumni Night as Weber State Soccer will welcome back alumni to Wildcat Soccer Field.
