Women's Track and Field thrive in split squad weekend

The Weber State women's track and field team competed at the UW Invitational and Utah State Speed and Power meet over the weekend.

The Wildcats set a lot of Personal Bests at the UW Invitational.Â
Every Wildcat to run in the Mile event at the UW Invitational set a new personal best. Hannah Bailey led the team with her top 10 performance, followed by Elayna Loveridge at 4:54.37, Wilkinson at 4:55.65, Brecklyn Bugnet at 5:01.91 and Sandra Aberg at 5:02.35.
"The 5k athletes also ran well with almost everyone setting a new personal best! Our team was represented well in the event," Head Coach Lindsey Anderson said. "Overall, I was very proud of the athletes competing in Washington! They got after it and had a very strong performance."
At the Utah State Speed and Power meet, Shannan Fonua placed 1st in the weight throw to remain undefeated on the season.Â
Abby Triplett placed 2nd in the high jump with a mark of 5'-7.00. Bailey Tovey placed 3rd in the shot put at 45'-8.00.
"We had several personal bests and improvements on the season as well. I am proud of the women who competed at Utah State," Anderson said. "We look forward to the next couple weeks of mid-season racing before we gear up for conference!"
The Wildcats will next travel to the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nevada February 5-7.
