Wyatt Larkins breaks his own school and freshman record at Wolf Pack Classic

Larkins is the first Wildcat to surpass the 20-meter mark in the weight throw
The Weber State men's track and field team competed at the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nevada over the weekend.Â

School Record and Freshman Record
Wyatt Larkins - Weight Throw - 66'-5.25
Larkins improved his school record he set last weekend at the Utah State Speed and Power Meet. Larkins is the first Wildcat to throw over the 20 meter (65'-7) mark and he currently sits as the #2 Freshman in the NCAA. His throw is also the meet and facility record.
Colby Jenks placed 1st in both the 800 meter and 600 meter races with times of 1:53.07 and 1:20.20, respectively.Â
The Wildcats swept the podium in the 5,000 meters led by Jess Christiansen with a time of 14:58.52. Tanner Rogers ran at 15:10.84, followed by Evan Harris at 15:32.99.
Two other Wildcats placed 3rd in their respective events. Tyler Warnick in the 400m at 48.24 and Joseph Miraya in the Weight Throw and Shot Put at 54'-0.0 and 51'-5.50.Â
"It was a solid trip out to Reno to compete at the new facility," Head Coach Corbin Talley said. "Overall, we're still learning a lot and making progress. I'm looking forward to the coming weeks and expecting a lot of guys to continue to step up."
The Wildcats will now split squad at the Mountain State Games in Pocatello, Idaho and the Husky Classic in Seattle, Washington February 13-14.Â
The Big Sky Championships will then take place February 26-28 in Pocatello, Idaho.Â
