Chelsea Bair finished her career as one of the top players in Weber State history.  She appeared in 128 career matches at Weber State and ranks in the WSU career top ten in seven categories.  She is second all-time in kills, second in digs, second in attacks, second in sets played, third in kills average, third in aces, and seventh in matches played.  She also ranks fifth in Big Sky history in career kills with 1,666.  She is one of seven players in Weber State history with 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. 

 

2009 (Senior)

Chelsea played in all 109 sets for the Wildcats and led the team in kills and aces and was second in digs…She ranked third in the conference in kills at 3.59 per set and was also third in points and fourth in aces…She posted double digits in kills in each of WSU’s last 18 matches and did so 23 times this season and 94 times in her career…She had ten or more kills in all but one of WSU’s 16 Big Sky matches this season…Was named to the Big Sky All-Conference First Team, earning All-Conference honors for the fourth time in her career. 

 

2008 (Junior)

Chelsea started all 34 matches and played in all 135 sets for the Wildcats during the season, one of four players that played in every set...Was named to the Big Sky All-Conference Second Team for her performance during the season, the third time she has earned All-Conference honors, but the first time being named to the Second Team...Led the Big Sky with 19 double-doubles during the season, giving her 41 career double-doubles...Posted a double-double in 10 of the 16 Big Sky regular season matches...Led Weber State and finished fourth in the Big Sky in kills with an average of 3.44 per set...Posted 464 kills during the season, the eighth most in WSU single-season history...Finished with ten or more kills in 29 of WSU’s 34 matches, including a streak of 22 straight matches with at least ten kills...Has now posted ten or more kills in 71 of her 99 career matches at Weber State...Posted season-highs of 18 kills three times during the season, including WSU’s win over Montana in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament...Also had 22 matches with ten or more digs, giving her 49 matches for her career...Had a season-high of 21 digs at Sacramento State on October 4...Led Weber State and was fourth in the Big Sky in points with an average of 3.99 per set, totaling 539 points during the season...Also led the Wildcats and finished sixth in the league in aces at 0.25 per set, totaling 34 aces on the season...Finished the year with 1,204 total attacks, the seventh most attacks in WSU single-season history...Was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week October 13 for the first time in her career after leading the Wildcats to two conference wins...Was also named to the All-Tournament Team of the Baylor Classic and the Gonzaga Classic.

 

2007 (Sophomore)

Chelsea returned for her sophomore season after missing most of the 2006 season with a knee injury...She appeared in all 29 matches and was one of three players that played in every game during the season...Earned Big Sky All-Conference Honorable Mention honors for the second time in her career...Finished the season with 364 kills, second most on the Wildcat team, for an average of 3.22 per game, which ranked ninth best in the Big Sky...Posted double figures in kills in 20 of the 29 matches during the year...Now has double figures in kills in 42 career matches...Posted a season-high of 19 kills in WSU’s first match of the season against Wyoming...Also averaged 2.35 digs per game during the season, the fourth best average on the Wildcat team...Had double-digits in digs in nine matches during the season and finished the season with a career-high 24 digs in WSU’s loss to Portland State in the semifinals of the Big Sky Championships...Finished the season with 430 points, second best on the Wildcat team and eighth best in the Big Sky...Was fifth in the conference in aces at 0.34 per game, totaling 38 aces on the season...Had a career-high seven aces in the first match of the season against Wyoming...For her career she has 84 career aces, just eight off the all-time top ten list in school history...Posted nine double-doubles on the year, the second most on the Wildcat team...Now has 22 double-doubles for her career..Averaged 0.48 blocks per game and tied her career-high with six blocks in WSU’s 3-2 win at Sacramento State in November...Posted double-doubles in Weber State’s two Big Sky Tournament matches...Was named to the All-Tournament Team of the North Florida Labor Day Classic, after helping Weber State win three matches at the tournament.

 

2006

Chelsea had her knee scoped in August and missed the first ten matches of the season...She returned to the Wildcats in September and played in five matches but missed the rest of the season with a knee injury...Received a medical red-shirt for the season...She averaged 3.33 kills and 3.44 digs per game in the five matches she played...She posted double digits in kills in three of the five matches...Had 16 kills against IPFW on September 9 in Orem and also had 16 on September 14 against Portland State...Posted a season-high 18 digs against IPFW and recorded double-digits in digs in three of the five matches...Had four blocks against Portland State...Hit .151 in the five matches and had two aces.

 

2005 (Freshman)

Chelsea was one of three players to play in every game for the Wildcats during the season...Was one of two Wildcats to earn Big Sky Honorable Mention honors and was one of the top freshmen in the conference...Led Weber State in kills with an average of 3.34 per game, which ranked ninth in the Big Sky...Totaled 387 kills on the season, the most by a Wildcat in three seasons...Totaled 1,170 attacks on the season, the seventh most in Weber State single-season history...Had 44 service aces on the season, ranking fourth in the Big Sky...Was second on the team in digs with 307 for an average of 2.65 per game...Had career-highs of 26 kills in a win at Northern Arizona October 8...Also had a career-high of 16 digs in a win over Northwestern State...Finished the season with 11 double-doubles, tied for the most on the team.

 

Timpview High School

Graduated from Timpview High School in 2005...Earned 1st Team All-State for two years...Was named All-Region MVP...Played for High Country Volleyball club team out of Salt Lake City and competed internationally...Played in the Utah/Moscow games and in Puerto Rico with the High performance team of the Intermountain Region...She also competed in the Global Challenge in July 2005 in Salt Lake City with Coach Al Givens and earned best server and high point scorer for the tournament.

Was born June 23, 1987 in Provo, Utah...Parents are Brett and Verna Bair...Is the oldest of three children...Has two younger brothers CJ (20) and Cody (16)...Middle name is Leigh...Nickname is Cheech...Is majoring in Human Performance Management at Weber State.
