Wildcat soccer falls in overtime to Wolf Pack

RENO, Nev. - The Weber State University women's soccer team suffered a tough overtime setback on Friday night after rallying from a first-half deficit.
Nevada's Sarah Schmeda scored to tie the match in the 74th minute and then scored in the second minute of overtime to lift the Nevada Wolf Pack to a 3-2 win at Mackay Stadium.
Weber State, which trailed 1-0 at halftime, came out roaring in the second half and freshman midfielder Chansi Crompton hit an eight-year shot into the top left corner to tie the match at 1-1. Ari Aki had the assist on the play.
Just five minutes later, sophomore defender Mackenzie Day scored her second goal of the season, smashing the ball into the top right corner of the net from 15 yards out.
Schmeda tied up the match in the 74th minute after a long pass from Chrisalyn Fonte, and the teams traded chances until the final whistle of regulation.
Nevada scored the match-winner in the 92nd minute on a breakaway.
Weber State will return to action on Sunday when it travels to Mather, Calif., to take on UC Santa Barbara in a neutral-site match at the Mather Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
