WSU put in FIVE goals against Southern Utah. In the first half, Weber State put in two goals within a minute of each other. To start the second half, Weber State put a goal in within the first minute of kick off. WSU was able to put two more in during the second half to round things to five. WSU hasn't scored five goals in a game in 14 years.
WILDCATS EARN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Madison Garlock earned Big Sky Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career. Garlock played a part in three of Weber State's four goals at home last weekend in 2-1 victories over Northern Colorado and Montana. Garlock came through with the game-winning goal in the 98th minute to hand No. Colorado their first conference loss in a battle of two unbeaten teams.
Morgan Quarnberg is the reigning Big Sky Player of the Week. Quarnberg lifted Weber State to a 3-2 home victory over UC Santa Barbara, the No. 3-ranked team in the west region, on Friday by scoring a pair of goals including the game winner in the 84th minute.
Nikki Pittman earned Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week. Pittman came up with five saves in a 1-0 shutout of Utah Valley on the road Tuesday recording the first win of the year. She followed that performance up with a career-best 13 saves, three coming in the overtime periods, of a 1-1 draw at UC Davis. She concluded the week with four saves in a scoreless draw against UTEP.
CROMPTON ALL-TIME BIG SKY CAREER ASSIST LEADER
Against UC Santa Barbara, Chansi Crompton had one assist to tie the Big Sky Career Assist Record. Against Southern Utah, Crompton wound up for a shot just outside the 18. She let the ball fly towards the net and it was deflected by Sadie Newsom, giving Crompton the assist to take over the title of All-Time Big Sky Assist Leader.
