Portland State comes back to beat Wildcats 76-75

OGDEN - Portland State came back from a second half deficit and defeated Weber State 76-75 Thursday night at the Dee Events Center.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 13-8 overall and 7-3 in Big Sky play at the midpoint of the conference regular season schedule.
The Wildcats held a 41-36 lead at halftime and led by as many as 12 points in the second half. The 'Cats were up 62-50 with 9:50 to play when the Vikings went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to four points.
WSU led by six with 4:45 to play before another 8-0 run gave Portland State a 72-69 lead with 3:20 to play. The Wildcats led by one with 24 seconds left when PSU's Deante Strickland knocked down a 3-pointer to beat the shot clock that up the Vikings up for good.
"They were the more aggressive team and we were just a little bit off and didn't match their energy and aggressiveness," said WSU head coach Randy Rahe.
Weber State shot 50 percent from the field and held Portland State to 44 percent shooting the the Vikings outrebounded the Wildcats 44-27. The Wildcats were just 4 of 15 from 3-point range
Jerrick Harding led the 'Cats with 28 points, along with five rebounds and three assists. Zach Braxton added 15 points and eight rebounds and Israel Barnes had 10 points.
Senior Brekkott Chapman also had 10 points, along with seven rebounds and tied his career-high with six blocked shots, just one off the Weber State single-game record.
The Wildcats begin the second half of conference play hosting Sacramento State Saturday night at 7 p.m.
