Wildcats off to to the Silicon Valley Classic II

ON DECK
• Weber State continues the 2019 season at the Silicon Valley Classic II tournament hosted by Santa Clara.

• The Wildcats will begin with games on Friday, March 8 against CS Fullerton and Santa Clara before playing UC Davis and CSUN on Saturday, March 9.

• WSU will conclude the Silicon Valley Classic II with a game against San Jose State on Sunday, March 10.

• WSU is currently in the fourth weekend of five weekends on the road.

IN THE HOLE
• Weber State heads to Phoenix, Ariz. for the Grand Canyon Tournament to take on Lehigh, Ohio State, and tournament host Grand Canyon March 15-17.

• Weber State will start Big Sky play on March 22-23 at Northern Colorado.

• WSU's home opener will be March 20 against in-state foe, Utah State.

WHAT'S GOOD?
• Weber State is 4-9 overall on the season.

• Weber State is sitting at No. 4 in the Big Sky Standings.

• Weber State defeated Stanford 2-1 in extra innings thanks in large part to solid pitching by Tatiana Su'esu'e and great defense by the Wildcats. Chloe Camarero hit a double for the game winning RBI.

• The Wildcats are coming off a 2018 season where they claimed the Big Sky Regular Season title as Co-Champions with Sacramento State.

• 2018 was Weber State's third consecutive Big Sky Regular Season title.

• The Wildcats were picked to finish second in the Big Sky preseason polls.

• Weber State returns nine letterwinners from last season and six starters while adding six newcomers.


THE 4-3 PUTOUT
• Freshman, Faith Hoe has been a force to be reckoned with on second base. So far this year, she has had 57 total chances with 22 putouts and 30 assists. She has a .912 fielding percentage on the year.

• At the Boyd Gaming Rebel Classic hosted by UNLV, freshman second baseman Faith Hoe had an impressive defensive performance.  Hoe had 25 total chances including eight putouts and 17 assists with no errors.

• Against Hawaii, Hoe had five consecutive defensive outs. Claiming three of those in a single inning.

• Against UC Davis, Hoe had three consecutive 4-3 putouts.
