Three Weber State track and field athletes will be competing at this week's NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

WSU senior Nathan Dunivan, senior Tawnie Moore and sophomore Kate Sorensen will also compete at the NCAA Championships. All three are Big Sky champions and are school record holders.

The NCAA Championships will be held June 5-8 in Austin, Texas. The meet will be televised all week on the ESPN family of networks.

Each event includes 24 athletes. The top eight finishers will earn first team All-America honors, the second eight finishers will earn second team honors and the next eight finishers will earn honorable mention All-America honors.

Nathan Dunivan will compete in the men's discus, which is scheduled for Friday at 6:05 p.m. Mountain time.

Earlier this season, Dunivan won Big Sky titles in the discus and the hammer throw at the conference meet, becoming the first Wildcat thrower to ever win two conference titles in the same meet. Earlier this year he set a WSU school record in the discus with a mark of 188-10.

The senior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, quailed for the NCAA's for the first time in his career by finishing eighth at the NCAA West region meet with a mark of 182-11.

WSU senior Tawnie Moore will compete at the NCAA Championships for the first time in her career, running in the women's 100-meter hurdles. She will compete in the preliminaries of the event on Thursday at 7:02 p.m. Mountain time with the finals set for Saturday at 5:12 p.m. MT.

Moore is a four-time Big Sky champion and has won the conference title in the 100-meter hurdles in two of the last three seasons, including this year. She set a new Big Sky Conference record in the event with a time of 13.11 at the Big Sky Championships.

Moore, a native of Marriott-Slaterville, Utah, finished seventh in the NCAA West Preliminary Round with a time of 13.13 to qualify for nationals. She ranks 12th in the event heading into the meet.

Wildcat sophomore Kate Sorensen will compete in the women's 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA meet. The preliminaries of the event are scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. MT with the finals set for Saturday at 5:57 p.m.

Sorensen qualified for the meet by finishing 10th in the event at the NCAA West meet with a time of 57.46. That time broke her own school record and also ranks as the second-fastest time in Big Sky history.

The Gunnison, Utah native won the Big Sky title in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.43.
