Wildcats open 2021 with 70-62 win over UVU

OGDEN - Three Wildcats scored in double figures as Weber State held off Utah Valley 70-62 in a back-and-forth game Saturday afternoon at the Dee Events Center.
The game was tied 10 times and saw 16 lead changes. Weber State led by one point with 3:24 to play when the 'Cats went on a 7-0 run, capped by a Dillon Jones 3-pointer with 1:08 to play to seal the win.
Weber State shot 42 percent from the field, compared to 41 percent for UVU. The Wildcats knocked down eight 3-pointers and finished 18 of 23 from the free throw line.
Seikou Sisoho Jawara led the 'Cats with 14 points, along with three assists. Isaiah Brown added 12 points and Cody Carlson had 10 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Dontay Bassett had nine points and five rebounds.
The Wildcats moved to 4-3 overall with the win.
