Six players in double figures in season opening 100-60 win

Wildcats beat Western Colorado in season debut. Next five games on the road.
OGDEN - Six players scored in double figures as Weber State opened the 2021-22 season with a dominating 100-60 win over Western Colorado Tuesday night at the Dee Events Center.
The Wildcats led by 12 at halftime, then shot 64 percent from the field in the second half to roll to the win. WSU led by as many as 44 points late in the game.
For the game, Weber State shot 60 percent from the and held the Mountaineers to 36 percent shooting. WSU also outrebounded Western Colorado 44-31 and had 14 steals, while forcing 23 Mountaineer turnovers.
Senior transfer JJ Overton led Weber State with 18 points. He also had five steals, three rebounds and three assists.
Five other Wildcats scored in double figures. Seikou Sisoho Jawara had 17 points and three steals and knocked down two 3-pointers. Senior transfer Koby McEwen also had 16 points with two 3-pointers and had six rebounds.
Dillon Jones had a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Cody Carlson and Zahir Porter each added 10 points. Freshman center Alex Tew had eight points and three rebounds in his Wildcat debut.
Weber State will play the next five games away from the Dee Events Center. The 'Cats will play at Duquesne in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Monday night, before three games at the Jersey Mike Classic in St. Petersburg, Florida Nov. 18-20.
The next home game will be on December 2 against Northern Arizona.
