Men's basketball opens homestand Saturday at 2:30

Wildcats will play their next four games at the Dee Events Center.

• Weber State returns home to open a four-game stretch at the Dee Events Center when the Wildcats take on the University of Maine at Fort Kent Saturday at 2:30 p.m. It will be the second game of a doubleheader as the WSU women's team hosts Tarleton State at 12 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN+ and broadcast on the radio on 103.1 FM "The Wave" with Steve Klauke and former Wildcat standout and Big Sky MVP David Patten on the call. • Weber State lost its first game of the season with a 94-60 loss at Washington State Wednesday night in Pullman, Washington, snapping the eight-game winning streak to start the season. The Wildcats shot just 35 percent from the field, while allowing Washington State to shoot 57 percent, the best shooting percentage against the Wildcats this season. 

Dillon Jones led Weber State with 16 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists in Wednesday's game. Jones, the reigning Big Sky Player of the Week, is averaging 13.3 points per game and ranks ninth in the country in rebounds at 10.8 per game. He is second in the Big Sky in field goal percentage at 59 percent. Koby McEwen, JJ Overton and Seikou Sisoho also scored in double figures in the game. McEwen ranks seventh in the conference in scoring at 16.2 points per game.  

• Saturday's game will mark the first of four straight games at home. Weber State has won 14 straight home games, tied for the 10th longest active streak in the country. WSU also needs one more win for the 500th win in school history at the Dee Events Center. Weber State is 499-129 (.795) all-time in games at the Dee Events Center since the building opened in 1977.   

• Maine Fort Kent enters Saturday's game with a 2-12 record. The Bengals have lost their last 11 games, including a 95-44 loss at Mayville State on Thursday night. They have played one other Division I school and lost 75-43 at the University of Maine on November 19.  

• Maine Fort Kent is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Fort Kent is located right on the St. John river and the Canadian border. The Bengals are coached by Tom Bird. The roster includes Micah Petty, a sophomore from South Weber, Utah who attended Layton Christian Academy.  

• After Saturday's game the Wildcats will face three more home games, taking on Utah State on Dec. 15, BYU on Dec. 18 and Fresno State on Dec. 23.
