Wildcats beat Hornets with last second layup

Isaiah Brown's layup with one second left clinched a 72-70 win for Weber State over Sacramento State Saturday at the Nest in Sacramento. 
 
The win moved Weber State to 16-5 overall and 11-3 in Big Sky play with two conference games left on the regular season schedule. The win also clinched a first round bye in the Big Sky Tournament. 
 
The Hornets led by two points with 3:33 to play. The 'Cats regained the lead with 29 seconds left after a Dillon Jones layup. Sacramento State tied the game 70-70 with seven seconds left, when Brown took the ball and went coast-to-coast for the game-winning layup. 
 
The Wildcats shot 52 percent from the field, compared to 49 percent for the Hornets. Both teams knocked down five 3-pointers. 
 
Zahir Porter led the Wildcats with 20 points on 9 of 12 shooting, along with four assists. Brown had 18 points and Dillon Jones added 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists off the bench. 
 
Weber State will face their final two home games of the season this week hosting Northern Colorado on Thursday and Saturday at the Dee Events Center.
